Ownership is not a Privilege

I don't know about you, but I've never had a horse come out to my house to look at me, make me do some tricks, do a pre-purchase exam on me and then sign a bill of sale and take me home. We owe it to our horses to be very conscientious of the fact that we have gone out and purchased our horses and put them into our care. It is our duty to be the kind of people we would want to be owned by. Be the kind of person that your horse loves to see everyday. Be the person your horse wants to wait at the gate for. Be the kind of person your horse can get excited over when seeing. The person your horse wants to be a partner with; wants to learn new things from; and wants to go on adventures with. Your horse didn't choose to go move in with you and be part of your life. You chose them. Make sure your horses are happy that you did.
