THE YAWN.

The yawn. I always want a yawn, or three, or ten. When the horse yawns he is telling you that he's relaxed and is releasing tension. A relaxed mind is an open mind. I have observed that when you train for the yawn you end up having horses that retain information better and progress quicker. Getting a yawn can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. You don't have to do much. Most of the time it is as simple as being patient and holding space. You will find you end up doing "more" in 15 minutes of holding space than you do in an hour of busy-ness.
